Fit analysis

The candidate is an exceptionally strong match for a Senior Fullstack role, demonstrating deep expertise in modern JavaScript frameworks (Next.js/React), complex data integration (GraphQL/PostgreSQL), and specialized domain knowledge in both B2B e-commerce and industrial IoT infrastructure.

Where you fit

  • Full-Stack Architecture: Proven ability to architect and deploy high-performance, full-stack applications using Next.js, React, Node.js, and associated databases (e.g., Brooking Technologies, SCP Corp LLC).
  • B2B E-commerce Expertise: Extensive experience building headless B2B storefronts using Next.js/Shopify, including managing complex product configurators and optimizing sales workflows (Brooking Technologies, Mission Ready Solutions).
  • Real-Time IoT & Telemetry Systems: Direct experience developing real-time SaaS platforms in Rust/JavaScript to aggregate and monitor large fleets of physical assets (1,800+ Antminer fleet at Abit Corp LLC).
  • Complex Data Integration: Proficient in integrating disparate systems using GraphQL (Hasura), PostgreSQL, and live blockchain nodes for centralized data management (SCP Corp LLC).
  • Operational Optimization: Demonstrated ability to drive measurable business improvements, such as optimizing B2B quote accuracy by 30% or reducing downtime via proactive monitoring (Brooking Technologies, Abit Corp LLC).
  • Infrastructure & Deployment: Experience designing and implementing scalable power/network infrastructure for zero-disruption rollouts, indicating strong operational maturity (Abit Corp LLC).

Where you may struggle

  • TypeScript Usage Depth: While listed as a preference and implied by modern stack usage, the resume does not explicitly detail large-scale projects built entirely in TypeScript, which is crucial for senior roles. This represents a potential risk regarding type safety implementation at scale.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: The experience focuses heavily on application deployment (Next.js, Node.js) but lacks explicit mention of managing core cloud infrastructure services (e.g., AWS EC2/S3, Azure networking, advanced CI/CD pipelines beyond basic deployments). This is a gap if the role requires deep DevOps ownership.

Job description
About Astra Astra is building mission-critical infrastructure for moving money at scale. Our platform processes billions in annual transaction volume with 99.9%+ uptime, powering real-time transfers, bank debits, card disbursements, and complex financial compliance systems. We provide APIs and automation tools that enable businesses to move money programmatically while maintaining strict regulatory requirements. The Role We're looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer who is primarily frontend-focused but comfortable contributing across the stack. You'll own the React and TypeScript surfaces our clients and internal teams depend on, while also being able to build and extend the Python APIs that support them. You'll work closely with our engineering team to ship features across our payments dashboard, internal tooling, and embedded product surfaces. This role is a great fit if you think of yourself as a frontend engineer first, with enough backend range to move fast without always needing to hand off. Strong React and TypeScript skills are the foundation. Python fluency is a plus, not a prerequisite. What You’ll Do: Own the Frontend Architecture Lead frontend architecture decisions including component design, state management, performance, and scalability as our platform grows Design and implement React and TypeScript interfaces for our payments dashboard, reporting surfaces, and embedded product experiences Translate complex financial workflows into intuitive, accessible interfaces Help establish and scale our frontend platform, including shared component libraries, tooling, and patterns the team builds on Contribute Across the Stack Build and extend Python APIs that power frontend features Collaborate with backend engineers on data contracts, API design, and integration patterns Participate in system design discussions and bring a product-quality perspective to backend work Drive Frontend Standards Establish and maintain frontend best practices, component libraries, and design patterns for a growing team Mentor engineers and conduct code reviews with a focus on quality and consistency Partner with product and design to refine requirements and push back when scope or UX is unclear Support Internal Tooling Build and improve internal tools used by our operations, compliance, and payments teams Maintain high standards for reliability and usability across both external and internal surfaces Requirements What We’re Looking For 5+ years of software engineering experience with significant frontend ownership Strong production experience in React and TypeScript, these are the primary skills for this role Enough backend range to build and extend APIs independently, Python experience preferred Demonstrated ability to own features end to end, from data layer to UI Experience working in a collaborative team with shared codebases and code review culture Ability and willingness to travel up to ~15% annually Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience Technical Skills Frontend: React, TypeScript, component architecture, state management Backend: Python, REST APIs, web frameworks Database: Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases Cloud: Google Cloud Platform or similar Tooling: Git, CI/CD, testing frameworks Preferred Experience Data visualization and reporting: experience building charts, dashboards, or analytics surfaces Financial or fintech products, including dashboards, reporting, or transaction workflows Design system or component library ownership Experience with internal tooling for operations or compliance teams Familiarity with domain-driven design or clean architecture patterns Why This Role Matters Direct Impact: You'll be a core part of a small, high-output engineering team with real ownership over the product experience Frontend Ownership: Lead the frontend architecture and set the bar for quality across our interfaces Complex Problems: Work on sophisticated payment workflows that few engineers get to build Team Building: Establish frontend engineering practices and culture as we scale Financial Innovation: Build the interfaces that make financial infrastructure accessible to our clients What We Offer Competitive compensation with equity in a growing fintech company. Remote-first culture with flexible working arrangements Small team, big impact — your work directly supports Astra’s ability to scale responsibly Professional growth opportunities in compliance and risk management Mission-driven — build infrastructure that powers financial innovation while meeting the highest regulatory standards Remote Work and Culture Astra is a remote-first company hiring only within the U.S. We value thoughtful collaboration, clarity, and initiative. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. How To Apply We're looking for engineers who care about product quality as much as technical craft. If you're excited by the challenge of making complex financial systems feel simple to use, and you want real ownership on a small team, we'd love to hear from you. Compensation Range: $190K - $230K

Questions from the bot

Have you worked with TypeScript in a large-scale application? If so, what specific features (e.g., generics, utility types) did you utilize to enforce complex data structures?
Do you have experience managing cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation? If so, what resources did you provision?
When building the Colony Watch platform, how did you handle user authentication and authorization for multiple client organizations accessing the telemetry data?
