Senior Staff MLOps Engineer
HCA Healthcare · Nashville, TN, USA · no salary listed · via jobspy:indeed
Fit analysis
The candidate possesses exceptional full-stack engineering skills, deep experience in high-availability systems, and complex data pipeline management (IoT/B2B e-commerce). However, the role is highly specialized in MLOps, requiring specific expertise in ML model lifecycles, cloud IaC, and advanced AI concepts that are not demonstrated on the resume.
Where you fit
- Full-Stack Development: Proficient across Next.js, React, Node.js, and Rust, demonstrating versatility required for complex system architecture.
- High Availability/Operational Focus: Experience ensuring 'zero disruption' during large-scale rollouts (Abit Corp LLC), which is critical for mission-critical healthcare systems.
- Complex Data Integration: Expertise in bridging disparate systems using GraphQL (Hasura) and PostgreSQL, showing ability to manage complex enterprise data flows.
- Real-Time Systems Engineering: Developed Colony Watch, a real-time SaaS platform aggregating telemetry from 1,800+ assets, demonstrating capability in high-volume, time-sensitive data processing.
- B2B E-commerce Architecture: Proven ability to architect and optimize headless B2B portals (Next.js/Shopify), showing understanding of complex business workflows and sales funnels.
Where you may struggle
- Machine Learning Operations (MLOps): The resume lacks any direct experience with the ML lifecycle, including model training frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow), data drift detection, or specific MLOps tools (e.g., Kubeflow, MLflow).
- Cloud Infrastructure as Code (IaC): While infrastructure deployment is mentioned, there is no evidence of using industry-standard IaC tools like Terraform to manage cloud resources for scalability and security.
- AI/ML Reliability and Observability: The candidate has built monitoring systems for hardware telemetry, but not the specific observability components required for ML models (e.g., model performance metrics, bias detection) or fault tolerance in an AI context.
- Agentic AI Platform Engineering: This is a highly specialized requirement; the resume does not show experience building autonomous agent frameworks that diagnose and respond to system events using feedback-driven learning.
