Fit analysis
The candidate possesses exceptional full-stack development skills and deep expertise in B2B e-commerce architecture, which provides a strong technical foundation for this role. The primary gaps relate to specific compliance standards (ADA/WCAG) and the domain knowledge of higher education marketing.
Where you fit
- Web Development Proficiency: Demonstrated mastery of modern web technologies including Next.js, React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS across multiple roles, ensuring ability to design and develop functional digital assets.
- E-commerce/B2B Portal Management: Proven experience architecting high-performance headless B2B storefronts using Next.js and Shopify, including managing complex product catalogs, pricing, and sales workflows (Brooking Technologies, Mission Ready Solutions).
- SEO Strategy Implementation: Executed comprehensive SEO strategies, including structured data implementation, metadata optimization, and URL hygiene, directly improving organic search visibility (Brooking Technologies, Mission Ready Solutions).
- Data Integration & APIs: Highly proficient in integrating complex third-party systems via GraphQL (Hasura) and managing diverse data flows using PostgreSQL and various web APIs, which is critical for maintaining a centralized digital presence.
- Content Flow Management: Experience managing end-to-end content integrity across multiple sales channels and platforms, ensuring consistency during rapid growth phases (Mission Ready Solutions).
Where you may struggle
- Accessibility Compliance (ADA/WCAG): The job heavily emphasizes compliance with ADA, Section 508, and WCAG standards. The resume does not mention any specific experience or knowledge of implementing these complex accessibility requirements into live web builds, which is a major risk for a public institution.
- Higher Education Domain Knowledge: While the candidate has extensive B2B/e-commerce experience, they lack direct professional experience within the higher education sector, meaning they may require ramp-up time regarding institutional marketing strategies and specific student recruitment goals.
- CMS Administration Focus: The role requires being a lead administrator and technical resource for general Marketing staff. While the candidate has managed CMS functions (Shopify/WooCommerce), their background is highly technical development rather than operational content governance and training of non-technical departmental editors.
