Fit analysis

The candidate possesses exceptional full-stack integration and data pipeline expertise across complex B2B and IoT environments, which is highly transferable. However, there are significant gaps in experience with the specific core technologies required for this role, particularly Python (FastAPI), Azure cloud services, and enterprise messaging platforms like Kafka.

Where you fit

  • Building scalable backend services: Developed Colony Watch, a real-time SaaS platform aggregating telemetry from 1,800+ machines using Rust/JavaScript, demonstrating ability to handle high-volume data streams.
  • System Integration & API Management: Engineered complex integrations across disparate systems (WooCommerce, Hasura, Keycloak) and managed multiple third-party APIs into custom product configurators, achieving a measurable 30% improvement in B2B quote accuracy.
  • Data Pipeline Architecture: Established critical telemetry pipelines for high-availability production environments (1,800+ Antminer fleet), showing expertise in real-time data capture and monitoring.
  • Database Proficiency: Extensive experience with PostgreSQL, managing complex e-commerce data flows, billing integrations (Authorize.net), and utilizing GraphQL/Hasura for centralized data access.
  • Full Lifecycle Ownership: Demonstrated ability to own systems end-to-end, from initial design and infrastructure rollout (zero disruption) through maintenance and optimization.
  • Frontend Development: Proficient in building high-performance, headless B2B portals using Next.js and React/Tailwind, capable of delivering complete solutions when needed.

Where you may struggle

  • Backend Language Specificity: The job requires strong experience with Python (FastAPI) and openness to C#/.NET; the candidate's primary backend languages listed are Rust, Node.js, and JavaScript.
  • Messaging/Streaming Platforms: The role requires building event-driven integrations using Kafka and Azure Service Bus; the resume only mentions general 'telemetry pipelines' but lacks experience with specific message brokers or streaming architectures.
  • Cloud Platform & IaC: While infrastructure rollout is mentioned, there is no explicit experience listed deploying services on Azure or managing cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
  • Data Warehousing Specificity: The job requires building data integrations across Snowflake; the candidate's database experience is limited to PostgreSQL and general relational databases.
  • Testing Practices: While ownership of systems is demonstrated, there is no mention of writing unit or integration tests using specific frameworks required (e.g., pytest, NUnit).
